Spread the love

Barbados, an eastern Caribbean island, is a stunning destination known for its powdery beaches, pristine turquoise waters, and rich cultural heritage. It’s a perfect escape where visitors can find both relaxation and adventure. Here are some of the best things to do in Barbados alongside recommendations for where to stay.

Explore Harrison’s Cave

Located in the central uplands of Barbados, Harrison’s Cave is a crystallized limestone cavern full of flowing streams, deep pools of crystal-clear water, and towering columns. Take a tramway tour to dive deep into this fascinating underground world.

Relax on the Beaches

No visit to Barbados is complete without time spent on its beaches. Crane Beach and Bathsheba Beach are especially popular for their breathtaking beauty and serenity. The soft sand and rolling waves offer the ideal beach day.

Surfing at Soup Bowl

For the adventurous traveler, the Soup Bowl in Bathsheba is known for its big swells and excellent surfing conditions. Novices can take lessons while experienced surfers challenge themselves against the waves.

Historical Bridgetown

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bridgetown is the vibrant capital of Barbados with historical significance. Don’t miss the 17th-century Garrison area, the bustling Broad Street for shopping, and the array of local eateries where you can taste authentic Bajan cuisine.

Catamaran Cruising

Take to the waters on a catamaran cruise where you can snorkel with sea turtles and colorful fish or simply enjoy the sun on deck. Most cruises offer food and drinks, combining relaxation with marine exploration.

Barbados Wildlife Reserve

This wildlife reserve in St Peter parish offers an opportunity to see animals such as monkeys, tortoises, peacocks, and iguanas roam freely in a natural environment.

Where to Stay

The Crane Resort

For luxury accommodations with spectacular views of Crane Beach, The Crane Resort is an ideal choice offering grandiose rooms and plush amenities.

Cobblers Cove

This charming boutique hotel in Speightstown blends English elegance with Caribbean charm providing a luxurious yet intimate stay.

Sandals Barbados

For a romantic getaway in St Lawrence Gap area, Sandals Barbados offers all-inclusive packages that cater exclusively to couples.

Little Arches Boutique Hotel

A small adult-only hotel near Miami Beach that gives guests personalized service with authentic Bajan hospitality – a true hidden gem.

Sugar Bay Barbados

An all-inclusive resort ideal for families due to its calm waters and range of onsite activities. It’s located in Hastings near historic Bridgetown.

Exploring these attractions and staying at any of these acclaimed properties will certainly make your trip to Barbados unforgettable. Whether seeking adventure or relaxation, this island has it all!
