Introduction:

Fake nails are a brilliant way to achieve an instantly stunning look without having to spend hours at the salon. But unfortunately, sometimes they can appear fake and ruin the illusion of perfectly manicured nails. Fret not! With a few simple tricks, you can make your faux nails looking more natural than ever before. Here are three ways to make your fake nails look real.

1. Ensure Proper Fit and Shaping:

The first and foremost step in getting your fake nails to look realistic is ensuring they fit your natural nails well. When selecting your fake nail set, choose one that closely matches the shape and size of your natural nail bed. Here’s how:

– Measure your natural nail from side-to-side and pick a similar-sized faux nail.

– Don’t force oversized tips as they can leave a visible gap between the fake and natural nail.

– Trim and shape the artificial nails according to your preference while making sure they blend with your natural nail’s contour.

If you’re using press-on nails, opt for semi-transparent or clear variants that reveal a hint of your natural nail underneath, elevating the realistic appearance.

2. Perfect Your Prep:

Before applying fake nails, be sure you carefully prepare your natural nails to create a seamless foundation. Here are some tips:

– Remove any existing polish with a gentle remover.

– Gently push back cuticles using an orangewood stick or cuticle pusher.

– Buff the surface of your natural nail lightly to increase adhesion and remove any traces of oil or lotion that may prevent proper bonding.

– Use a lint-free wipe soaked in alcohol to cleanse the surface of both the artificial and natural nail before applying adhesive.

Taking these steps ensures a secure bond between your fake nail and natural nail, helping them appear as one cohesive unit.

3. Ace Your Application:

Now comes the crucial part – application. Be cautious as any mistakes during this step can make it apparent that you’re wearing fake nails. Follow these steps for a flawless application:

– Apply adhesive to both your real nail and the fake nail, spreading it evenly with a brush or applicator included in the kit.

– Align the artificial nails correctly by starting from the cuticle area and slowly pressing down towards the tip of your natural nail. Ensure there are no air pockets or bubbles between them.

– Once the nail is in place, press down firmly for a few seconds to secure it. Be careful not to get glue on your skin as it can cause irritation and might spoil the final look.

– When all the fake nails are applied, smooth out any rough edges using a gentle file.

Final Thoughts:

With these simple yet effective techniques, you can effortlessly achieve a more authentic look with your fake nails, making it almost impossible for anyone to notice that they’re not real. Say goodbye to obviously faux nails and enjoy your stunning new manicure with confidence!
