Monoprice Dual Driver Headphones with ANC – A Comprehensive Review

In today’s fast-paced world, it isn’t too surprising to see people sporting headphones almost everywhere they go. From daily commuters to fitness enthusiasts, headphones have become a must-have accessory for the modern lifestyle. Among the plethora of headphones available in the market, Monoprice Dual Driver Headphones with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) have been generating quite a buzz. As an audiophile myself with high standards for audio quality, I felt it necessary to give these headphones a try and see if it’s worth all the hype.

Upon unboxing the Monoprice Dual Driver Headphones with ANC, I was greeted with a soft carry pouch and a solid build quality. The design itself is rather minimalistic and sleek, making it appealing for individuals who appreciate subtlety. The ear cups boast a smooth black finish that matches well with the matte black headband. Despite the usage of mostly plastic materials in construction, they don’t feel cheap or fragile.

One of the standout features of these headphones is their Active Noise Cancellation capabilities. Prior to testing them out in real-life situations, I was skeptical about its efficacy since ANC often comes with its issues in budget-friendly headphones. However, I am happy to report that these Monoprice headphones exceeded my expectations. The ANC function dramatically reduces ambient sounds up to 95%. Even in noisy environments such as trains or coffee shops, I found that the feature managed to filter out most unwanted background noise, allowing me to enjoy my music and podcasts without distraction.

The dual-driver design is another notable aspect of these headphones. It comprises a 50mm driver for accurate lows and mids with an additional precisely tuned 20mm driver for enhanced high frequencies. Consequently, audio quality is nothing short of impressive. The bass present is clear and punchy without being overpowering, while mids and highs are balanced and crisp. This clarity is maintained even when the ANC function is in use, which is a testament to the effectiveness of its technology.

Comfort is a critical factor to consider when purchasing headphones since nobody wants sore ears after extended usage. The Monoprice Dual Driver Headphones with ANC have soft memory foam ear pads that adapt and contour to your ear’s shape, providing excellent comfort over long listening sessions. The adjustable headband also helps distribute weight evenly across the head, reducing pressure points.

Another feature worth mentioning is the removable three-button remote cable. The controls allow for seamless management of music tracks, playback volume and handling phone calls without having to reach for your device constantly. It’s a convenient addition that adds to the overall user experience.

The battery life on these headphones is advertised at 50 hours with ANC enabled, and my experience seems to align with this claim. It means I didn’t have to think about charging them too often, which was a plus point.

However, no product is perfect, and there were some minor drawbacks that deserve attention. During my testing, I noticed that when the ANC feature was not activated, there was a slight reduction in audio quality. Though not a deal-breaker for me, some music purists might find this worth noting. Additionally, while they are lightweight, their bulky design may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

In conclusion, the Monoprice Dual Driver Headphones with ANC are a fantastic option for those looking for affordable headphones without compromising on audio quality and features. The ANC function works efficiently in blocking out ambient noise while the dual-driver design ensures excellent audio reproduction. With comfortable ear pads and a stylish look, these headphones tick all the essential boxes for modern users. Potential buyers should weigh the minor issues against their intended use style to determine if it’s a worthy investment. For me, it definitely is.
