5 Ways to Apply Eyeliner That Stays All Day

When it comes to makeup, eyeliner is a staple in many beauty routines. It can define the eyes and make them pop with just a few simple strokes. However, it’s not always easy to keep your eyeliner looking fresh and smudge-free throughout the day. Here are five ways to apply eyeliner that stays all day, ensuring you look fabulous from morning until night.

1. Choose the Right Eyeliner Formula

Select an eyeliner formula that is designed for long-lasting wear. Waterproof or smudge-proof formulas are your best bet, as they are less likely to budge throughout the day. Gel eyeliners tend to have excellent staying power, while liquid liners can provide a bold and long-lasting line.

2. Prime Your Eyelids

To ensure your eyeliner stays put all day long, start by applying a primer on your eyelids. This step helps create a smooth canvas for your makeup and prevents the oils on your lids from breaking down the eyeliner. Simply dab some primer onto your lids using your fingertips and blend it in before applying any other eye makeup.

3. Use a Thin Brush for Precision

When applying eyeliner, using a thin brush can make all the difference in achieving a precise line that stays put. Fine-tipped brushes allow you to get closer to the lash line, creating a thin and even layer of product that is less likely to smudge or smear throughout the day.

4. Layer Your Eyeliner

To increase staying power, consider layering different eyeliners for maximum impact. Start with a pencil liner close to the lash line, then apply a gel or liquid liner on top for added intensity and longevity. This technique not only helps lock in the color but also provides extra definition without adding too much bulk or heaviness.

5. Set Your Eyeliner with Powder

One of the best tricks for making your eyeliner last all day is to set it with a powder. To do this, simply use an eyeshadow in a similar shade to your liner and apply it directly over top with a small angled brush. The powder will help absorb any excess oil and prevent the eyeliner from smudging or transferring.

By incorporating these tips and techniques into your makeup routine, you can be confident that your eyeliner will stay in place all day long. Say goodbye to smudges and hello to beautifully defined eyes that last from morning until night.
