Introduction:

Cooking pancakes on a stovetop is the traditional method, often leaving home cooks with inconsistent results and a mess on their hands. However, using a microwave oven can simplify the process, delivering consistently fluffy and delicious pancakes. Here are three ways to make pancakes in a microwave oven without sacrificing taste or texture.

1. Basic Microwave Pancakes:

Ingredients:

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 2 tbsp sugar

– 2 tsp baking powder

– 1/2 tsp salt

– 1 cup milk

– 2 tbsp vegetable oil

– 1 egg

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and egg.

3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

4. Grease a microwave-safe plate or shallow dish with non-stick spray.

5. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the center of the plate.

6. Microwave on high for approximately 90 seconds or until cooked through (time may vary by microwave).

7. Carefully remove the pancake using a spatula and repeat the process for each pancake.

2. Mug Pancakes:

Ingredients:

– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

– 2 tbsp sugar

– 1/8 tsp baking powder

– A pinch of salt

– 3 tbsp milk

– 1 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil

– Dash of vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a microwave-safe mug, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

2. Add in the milk, melted butter or vegetable oil, and vanilla extract (if using).

3. Mix everything well with a fork until smooth.

4. Microwave on high for 90 seconds or until cooked through (time may vary by microwave).

5. Let it cool slightly before enjoying it straight from the mug or transferring it onto a plate.

3. Apple Cinnamon Pancake in a Microwave:

Ingredients:

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 2 tbsp sugar

– 2 tsp baking powder

– 1/2 tsp salt

– 1 tsp ground cinnamon

– 1 cup milk

– 2 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil

– 1 egg

– 1/4 cup grated apple

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter or vegetable oil, and egg.

3. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

4. Fold in the grated apple.

5. Grease a microwave-safe plate or shallow dish with non-stick spray.

6. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the center of the plate.

7. Microwave on high for approximately 90 seconds or until cooked through (time may vary by microwave).

8. Carefully remove the pancake using a spatula and repeat the process for each pancake.

Conclusion:

Pancakes don’t always have to be prepared conventionally on a griddle or frying pan – you can make them easily using your microwave oven as well! With these three methods, you can now enjoy delicious pancakes with less hassle and clean-up anytime you want.
