Introduction:

Celebrate this festive season with a delightful and tasty spin on traditional Christmas snowball cookies! Packed with the rich, nutty flavor of wholesome walnuts, these melt-in-your-mouth cookies are perfect for both your holiday gatherings and as gifts for friends and family. Follow along for the best snowball cookies recipe that will leave your loved ones craving more.

Ingredients:

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus additional for coating

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 1 1/2 cups finely chopped walnuts

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Set aside.

3. In a separate large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened unsalted butter and 1/2 cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Stir in the vanilla extract, followed by gradually adding the flour mixture into the creamed butter mixture. Mix until well-combined.

5. Fold in the finely chopped walnuts using a spatula or wooden spoon until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

6. Roll the dough into small balls (approximately one tablespoon per cookie). You can use a cookie scoop or your hands to create even-sized portions of dough to ensure consistent cooking.

7. Place each dough ball onto the prepared baking sheets about an inch apart to allow for expansion during baking.

8. Bake the cookies for approximately 20-25 minutes or just until they begin to turn golden around their edges.

9. Remove the baked cookies from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Then, carefully roll the warm cookies in a bowl of powdered sugar to coat them completely.

10. Set the coated cookies aside to cool completely on wire racks. Once cooled completely, roll the cookies once more in powdered sugar for an extra festive and snow-covered touch.

Serve these Christmas snowball cookies with walnuts at your holiday gatherings or package them up as beautiful gifts. This recipe is sure to capture hearts and have everyone asking for more during this joyous season. Enjoy!
