3 Ways to Make Thousand Island Dressing

Thousand Island dressing is a versatile and rich condiment, perfect for salads, sandwiches, and dipping. This famous dressing is traditionally made with a base of mayonnaise, ketchup, and sweet pickle relish. But don’t settle for store-bought dressing when there are several easy options for making your homemade Thousand Island dressing. Here are three delicious ways to make Thousand Island dressing at home.

1. Classic Thousand Island Dressing

Ingredients:

– 1 cup mayonnaise

– 1/4 cup ketchup

– 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish

– 2 tablespoons minced onion

– 1 tablespoon white vinegar

– 1 teaspoon granulated sugar

– Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, and sweet pickle relish.

2. Add in the minced onion, white vinegar, and granulated sugar.

3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Stir the ingredients until well-combined.

5. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving for the best flavor.

2. Spicy Thousand Island Dressing

Ingredients:

– 1 cup mayonnaise

– 1/4 cup ketchup

– 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish

– 2 tablespoons minced onion

– 1 tablespoon sriracha or hot sauce of your choice

– Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, and sweet pickle relish.

2. Add in the minced onion and sriracha or hot sauce of your choice.

3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Stir the ingredients until well-combined.

5. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving for optimal flavor development.

3. Vegan Thousand Island Dressing

Ingredients:

– 1 cup vegan mayonnaise

– 1/4 cup ketchup

– 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish

– 2 tablespoons minced onion

– 1 teaspoon granulated sugar

– Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the vegan mayonnaise, ketchup, and sweet pickle relish.

2. Add in the minced onion and granulated sugar.

3. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Stir the ingredients until well-combined.

5. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
