Introduction:

Juicy, flavorful, and tender – a perfectly cooked pork chop can be a heavenly delight for your taste buds. However, many people struggle with how to cook tender pork chops that aren’t dry or tough. Say goodbye to overcooked pork, and follow these simple steps on how to cook perfect, tender pork chops every time.

1. Choose the right cut: For tender and juicy pork chops, go for bone-in rib chops or center-cut loin chops. These cuts have more marbling, which translates into more tenderness and flavor.

2. Brine your pork chops: To ensure mouthwatering tenderness, brine your pork chops beforehand. Simply dissolve 1/4 cup kosher salt in 4 cups cold water, add your pork chops, and let them brine for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours. Remember to rinse after brining and pat dry before cooking.

3. Bring to room temperature: Let your pork chop sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before cooking. Doing so allows the chop to cook more evenly and prevents it from seizing up when it hits the heat.

4. Season generously: Proper seasoning is essential for flavor-packed pork chops. Season both sides of your chop with salt, pepper, or any other herbs and spices you prefer.

5. Choose your cooking method:

a) Pan-searing: Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy-duty pan over medium-high heat until hot (about three minutes). Add oil with a high smoke point (such as vegetable or grapeseed oil), then gently place the seasoned pork chop in the pan. Cook for between 3-4 minutes per side until a deep golden crust forms, then turn off the heat and let the residual heat continue cooking the meat.

b) Bake in the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Heat oil in a pan and sear the pork chop for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer the pan to the oven and roast for 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

6. Use a meat thermometer: The most accurate way to check for doneness is using a meat thermometer. Pork chops should reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) with a three-minute rest time.

1. Let it rest: Remove your pork chop from the pan or oven and let it rest on a cutting board or plate for at least 3-5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat, sending you into tender, juicy pork chop heaven.

Conclusion: With these easy steps to cook tender pork chops, you can now enjoy juicy, flavorful, and fork-tender pork chops every time. As you refine your technique and experiment with different seasonings and sides, you’ll become an expert at creating an effortlessly delectable meal. Bon appétit!
