Common sense is an essential skill that helps you make sound decisions and navigate daily life with ease. Though some individuals naturally possess common sense, others may need to develop this skill. Here are ten steps to improve your common sense and make better judgments.

1. Observe and Learn from Others:

Watch how people you admire handle situations and deal with problems. Learn from their wisdom and incorporate those experiences into your decision-making process.

2. Ask Questions:

Whenever you face a difficult situation or seek solutions to problems, ask questions. Seek advice from those around you with more experience or knowledge.

3. Build Your Knowledge and Vocabulary:

Read books, newspapers, and articles on various subjects to broaden your knowledge base. The more you know, the better equipped you’ll be to make sound choices and decisions.

4. Develop Empathy:

Put yourself in other people’s shoes and understand their perspectives and motives. This empathy will help inform your choices and lead to better long-term results.]

5. Practice Critical Thinking:

Evaluate all aspects of a situation before making decisions. Identifying potential pitfalls or negative consequences helps you pick the most appropriate course of action.

6. Trust Your Intuition:

As you gain more experience, you’ll develop a stronger intuition about what makes sense in a given situation. Trust your instincts, but verify them through logic when necessary.

7. Cultivate Humility:

Accepting that you don’t know everything helps build common sense. By admitting your limitations, you allow yourself to learn more from others and improve your decision-making process.

8. Be Open to New Experiences:

Expose yourself to a variety of situations, cultures, and backgrounds so that you can acquire new ideas and insights that inform your thinking process.

9. Reflect on Past Experiences:

Take time to analyze previous decisions – both good and bad – to understand how outcomes are determined by various factors. This reflection improves your future decision-making abilities.

10. Trust in the Process:

Understand that developing common sense takes time and practice. Don’t get discouraged if you make mistakes; use these as learning opportunities and continue to grow in wisdom.

By following these steps, you will gradually develop common sense and make more informed decisions in all aspects of your life. Remember, becoming wiser is a lifelong process – be persistent and dedicated to self-improvement.
