3 Ways to Twerk

Introduction:

Twerking, a popular dance move that originated in the late 1980s, has taken the world by storm. It involves rapid hip movements and shaking the buttocks in rhythm with music, giving a great energy boost while dancing. If you’re ready to upgrade your dance moves and have some fun, here are three simple ways to help you start twerking like a professional.

1. The Basic Twerk:

Step 1: Stand with your feet hip-width apart and slightly bend your knees.

Step 2: Place your hands on your hips or keep them in front of you for balance.

Step 3: Arch your back by pushing your hips forward and then quickly thrust them backward, causing your buttocks to jiggle. Be sure to maintain control during the movement, keeping it smooth rather than jerky.

Step 4: Continue with the same hip movements picking up speed as you get more comfortable with the motion.

2. The Squat Twerk:

Step 1: Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and then lower yourself into a squat position by bending your knees.

Step 2: Keep your hands on your thighs or extend them out in front of you for balance.

Step 3: Now “bounce” up and down by moving your hips forward and backward. This movement is all about controlling the jiggle of your buttocks as they rise and fall with each bounce.

Step 4: Experiment with different speeds and rhythms to create a unique twerking style that suits you best!

3. The Handstand Twerk:

Note: This move is more advanced, so make sure you are comfortable performing a handstand before attempting it.

Step 1: Begin by getting into a handstand position against a wall for support. Maintain proper form by keeping your legs straight, core engaged, and hands shoulder-width apart.

Step 2: While in a handstand, pull your feet away from the wall and start bending at the waist.

Step 3: Once your feet are away from the wall and your lower back is arched, start performing the same forward and backward hip movements as in the basic twerk. Be prepared for an intense core workout as you maintain balance while twerking.

Step 4: Practice until you perfect this exhilarating vertical twerk that will surely impress a dance crowd!

Conclusion:

There you have it! Three different ways to unleash your inner twerking diva. Remember, practice makes perfect, so dedicate time to honing these moves, and you’ll be turning heads on the dance floor in no time. Happy twerking!
