Intro:

In 2016, Pokemon Go captured the hearts and smartphones of people around the world. As a location-based augmented reality game, players could catch, train and battle their creatures, making it a truly captivating experience. One of the most beloved features in the game is the Buddy system. This feature enables creatures, or “Pokemon,” to accompany users on their adventures while earning rewards and bonuses. Here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon Go’s Buddy system.

1. Choosing Your Buddy:

To begin using the Buddy System, open your profile and tap on your Trainer avatar. Then, select the “Buddy” option from the menu that appears. You can now select which Pokemon to designate as your Buddy. Keep in mind that each Pokemon provides different benefits and rewards when it becomes your buddy.

2. Earn Candies:

The Buddy system allows you to earn candies as you walk around with your chosen Pokemon by your side. These candies help increase your Pokemon’s power and evolve them into more powerful creatures that can compete in battles against other trainers. Each species of

Pokemon requires a different distance to earn candies:

– 1km: Common Buddies

– 3km: Base-form Buddies

– 5km: Rare and Legendary Buddies

– 20km: Mythical Buddies

3. Buddy Levels:

Pokemon buddies have four different levels: Good Buddy, Great Buddy, Ultra Buddy, and Best Buddy. As you interact with your buddy and spend time together, you can increase its Affection level by collecting hearts. Each level achieved unlocks new perks and bonuses:

– Good Buddy (1 Heart): Your buddy follows you on the map.

– Great Buddy (70 Hearts): Your buddy has a chance of assisting you in catching other wild Pokemon.

– Ultra Buddy (150 Hearts): Your buddy can inform you about interesting places nearby or lead you to their favorite spots for valuable items.

– Best Buddy (300 Hearts): Your buddy receives a CP (Combat Power) boost in battles, making them more powerful. They will also receive a “Best Buddy Ribbon” as a token of your lasting friendship.

4. Interaction and Activities:

There are various ways to interact with your buddy and collect hearts while forming a strong bond:

– Walk Together: Earn one heart per day by walking with your buddy.

– Give Your Buddy a Treat: Earn up to three hearts daily by giving your buddy treats like berries.

– Play Together: Interact with your buddy by petting or snapping photos of them to earn one heart each day.

– Battle Together: Participate in gym battles, raids, or Trainer Battles with your buddy for up to three daily hearts.

– Visit a New Place: Bring your buddy to visit new Pokestops or gyms and earn one additional heart each day.

Summary:

The Buddy system in Pokemon Go is designed to enhance the game experience by allowing you to form unique bonds with your chosen creatures. Through various activities and interactions, trainers can earn candies, unlock new bonuses, and make lasting friendships with their chosen Pokemon buddies. So grab your smartphone, pick your favorite Pokemon, and embark on an unforgettable journey together!
