Pixel 7 vs. Pixel 7A: Google’s Cheaper Phone Is the Winner

Google’s Pixel lineup has been a popular choice for Android enthusiasts since its inception. The latest additions to the series, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7A, have been making waves in the smartphone market. While both phones offer impressive features and specifications, the cheaper Pixel 7A is the clear winner.

Design and Display

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7A share a similar design language, with a sleek aluminum body and a fingerprint sensor on the back. However, the Pixel 7A is slightly smaller and lighter than its counterpart, making it easier to hold and use with one hand. The display on both devices is top-notch, with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. However, the Pixel 7A has a slightly larger display at 6.2 inches compared to the Pixel 7’s 6 inches.

Performance

Both phones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset, which provides smooth performance for everyday tasks such as browsing the web, streaming videos, and playing games. However, the Pixel 7A has an advantage over the Pixel 7 when it comes to battery life. The former packs a larger battery of 4,680mAh compared to the latter’s 3,800mAh battery. This means that you can expect longer screen-on time from the Pixel 7A.

Camera

The camera is one of the most important aspects of any smartphone, and both phones deliver excellent results in this department. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7A feature a dual-camera setup with a primary lens of 12.2 MP and an ultra-wide lens of 16 MP. However, the Pixel 7A has a slightly better front-facing camera with an 8 MP lens compared to the Pixel 7’s 6 MP camera.

Price

The biggest advantage of the Pixel 7A over the Pixel 7 is its price. The Pixel 7A starts at $449, while the Pixel 7 starts at $599. This makes the Pixel 7A an excellent choice for those who want a premium smartphone experience without breaking the bank.

Conclusion

In conclusion, both phones offer impressive features and specifications, but the cheaper Pixel 7A is the clear winner. It offers a larger display, longer battery life, and a better front-facing camera than its counterpart. Moreover, it is significantly cheaper than the Pixel 7, making it an excellent value for money. If you’re in the market for a new smartphone and don’t want to spend too much, the Pixel 7A is definitely worth considering.
