The Dali Oberon 5 is a high-end, floor-standing speaker that has garnered a lot of attention in the audiophile community. It is the largest speaker in the Oberon lineup, and it boasts a refined design, advanced driver technology, and impressive sound quality. In this article, we will take a closer look at the Dali Oberon 5 and evaluate its performance.

Design and Build Quality:

The Dali Oberon 5 has a sleek and modern design that is built to last. It features a sturdy MDF cabinet that is available in several finishes, including black ash, light oak, and dark walnut. The front baffle of the speaker is covered with a removable black fabric grille that is held in place with magnets. The driver array consists of a 1-inch soft dome tweeter, a 5.25-inch wood fiber midrange driver, and two 5.25-inch wood fiber woofers.

Sound Quality:

The Dali Oberon 5 is a speaker that is designed to deliver a balanced and natural sound that is free from distortion. The combination of the soft dome tweeter and wood fiber drivers creates a cohesive and detailed soundstage that is both dynamic and accurate. The midrange driver is particularly impressive, delivering vocals and instruments with clarity and precision. The bass response is tight and controlled, thanks to the dual woofers, and the overall frequency response is smooth and well-balanced.

Performance:

The Dali Oberon 5 is an excellent performer that is suitable for a wide range of musical genres and listening environments. It has a sensitivity of 88.5 dB and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, which makes it easy to drive with most amplifiers. The speaker has a frequency response of 39 Hz to 26 kHz, which is quite impressive for a speaker of this size. It can handle up to 150 watts of power, which means it can get loud without sacrificing clarity or accuracy.

Conclusion:

The Dali Oberon 5 is an impressive speaker that delivers exceptional sound quality and a refined design. It is well-suited for music lovers who want a speaker that can handle a wide range of genres and listening environments. While it is not the cheapest speaker on the market, its performance justifies its price tag. If you are in the market for a high-end floor-standing speaker, the Dali Oberon 5 is definitely worth considering.
