DuckDuckGo is a popular search engine known for its strict privacy policy and the absence of user tracking. However, there is more to this search engine than just privacy. Here are ten things you probably didn’t know you could do with DuckDuckGo.

1. Use Bangs

Bangs are a feature unique to DuckDuckGo. They allow you to search specific websites by starting your search query with an exclamation point followed by the website’s abbreviation. For example, “!wikipedia cats” will take you directly to the Wikipedia page on cats.

2. Generate Random Passwords

DuckDuckGo has a built-in password generator that can create strong and random passwords for you. To use it, search “password” and click on the “Generate Strong Password” option.

3. Calculate and Convert

DuckDuckGo can perform math calculations and unit conversions. For example, you can search “5*7” to get the result or “20°C in Fahrenheit” to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit.

4. Get Product Prices

DuckDuckGo can show you the prices of products from different online retailers. Just search for the product and click on the “Shopping” tab.

5. Check the Weather

You can get up-to-date weather information for any location by searching “weather” followed by the name of the city or zip code.

6. Set a Timer

DuckDuckGo can help you set a timer or countdown. Just search “timer” or “countdown” followed by the amount of time you want.

7. Use Emoji

DuckDuckGo supports emojis in search queries. You can use them to make your searches more fun and creative.

8. Get Lyrics

If you want to know the lyrics to a song, just search for the song’s title followed by “lyrics” on DuckDuckGo. The lyrics will appear at the top of the search results.

9. Search for Recipes

If you’re looking for a specific recipe, you can search for it on DuckDuckGo and get results from various recipe websites.

10. Find Flight and Hotel Deals

DuckDuckGo can help you find the best deals on flights and hotels. Just search for your destination followed by “flights” or “hotels.”

In conclusion, DuckDuckGo is a versatile search engine that offers much more than just privacy. From generating random passwords to finding flight deals, it provides a range of useful features that can make your life easier. Next time you use DuckDuckGo, try some of these tricks and see how they can enhance your search experience.
