Android Phone Not Receiving Calls? Here Are Fixes to Try

Android phones have made life so much easier for people, as they allow individuals to stay connected with their loved ones and colleagues through calls, messages, and other communication modes. However, what if the phone stops receiving calls? The experience can be frustrating and can cause several inconveniences, especially if the phone is crucial for work purposes.

If you’re dealing with an Android phone that isn’t receiving calls, don’t fret. Fortunately, there are several fixes that people can use to remedy the situation. Here are some of the possible solutions you can try.

1. Check Signal Strength

The first thing to do when your Android phone isn’t receiving calls is to check the signal strength in the area. Poor network coverage can cause missed calls, making it essential to look for a place with a stronger signal. You can use the built-in signal strength checker to see if the phone is receiving adequate signal bars.

2. Restart the Phone

Restarting the Android phone is an excellent way to get rid of minor bugs and glitches that may have accumulated on the device. If the phone isn’t receiving calls, try turning it off and then on again. Once the phone is restarted, check if the issue is resolved.

3. Check for Do Not Disturb Mode

At times, people forget that they have enabled the Do Not Disturb mode, causing the phone not to receive any incoming calls. This is because the call rejection feature is on. To check if this is the cause of the problem, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Quick Settings. If you see a moon or a crossed-out speaker icon, it means that Do Not Disturb mode is active.

4. Disable Call Forwarding

Call forwarding can cause calls to be redirected to another number or voicemail, meaning that the phone won’t ring when a call is coming in. To check if call forwarding is active, go to Settings> Phone> Call forwarding, and disable all forwarding options.

5. Check for Third-Party Apps

Some third-party applications can cause conflicts with the Android phone’s functionalities. If you’ve installed a new app recently, try uninstalling it and then check if the issue persists.

6. Update the Phone’s Software

Updating the phone’s software can also fix bugs and glitches that may be causing the phone not to receive calls. Go to Settings> System> System Update, and check for any available updates.
