Are you looking to explore the world from the comfort of your own home? Look no further than Google Earth! With the capability to explore satellite imagery, 3D buildings, and terrain from all over the globe, Google Earth is a powerful tool that can be accessed directly from your web browser.

Here’s how to get started:

1. Visit the Google Earth website. Simply type “Google Earth” into your preferred search engine and click on the first link that appears. This will take you directly to the Google Earth homepage.

2. Choose your view. There are two options for viewing Google Earth in a browser: the Google Earth web version and the Google Earth Chrome extension. The web version can be accessed on any modern web browser, while the Chrome extension requires you to have Google Chrome installed on your computer.

3. Navigate the interface. Once you’ve selected your view of choice, you’ll be taken to the Google Earth interface. This interface includes a search bar, toolbar, and map area.

4. Use the search bar. The search bar is located at the top of the Google Earth interface. Simply type in an address, city, or landmark and hit “Enter” to zoom in on that location.

5. Utilize the toolbar. The toolbar is located on the left-hand side of the interface and includes a variety of tools for interacting with and exploring the map. These tools include options for measuring distance, adding placemarks, and adjusting the terrain view.

6. Customize your settings. If you’d like to adjust the settings of your Google Earth experience, click the gear icon in the lower left-hand corner of the interface. From there, you can adjust your view settings, toggle on/off specific layers, and change your language preferences.

7. Save your favorite locations. If you’d like to save a specific location for easy access later, simply click the “Add” button in the lower right-hand corner of the interface. This will allow you to add a placemark and save it for future reference.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
