Introduction:

Managing your close friends on Facebook is essential if you want to keep your interactions and updates more personalized and intimate. This article will guide you through seven different ways to edit your close friends list on Facebook using a PC or Mac.

1. Accessing your Close Friends List:

– Log in to your Facebook account using a PC or Mac.

– Click on your profile picture at the top of the page.

– Scroll down and click on “Friends” located below your cover photo.

– On the left side, click “Close Friends” to access your list.

2. Adding a friend to the list:

– Find the friend you want to add by either searching their name in the search bar or browsing through your friends list.

– Click on their name and hover over the “Friends” button.

– Select “Edit Friends List” and then check the box next to “Close Friends.”

3. Removing a friend from the list:

– Locate the friend you want to remove in the Close Friends list.

– Hover over their profile picture, and a small window will appear.

– Click on the “Friends” button, select “Edit Friends List,” and then uncheck the box next to “Close Friends.”

4. Manage notifications from Close Friends:

– Go back to the Close Friends section on the left-hand side.

– At the top of that section, click on “Notifications.”

– You can choose whether you get notified for all, some, or none of their activities.

5. Customizing who can see your posts:

– When creating a post, click on the privacy settings dropdown icon (a padlock or globe) next to “Post.”

– Select “Custom,” and then click on “Share with: Specific friends…” from the dropdown menu.

– Type in each friend’s name or select them from your Close Friends list.

6. Creating a custom list:

– On the left-hand side of your Facebook homepage, hover over “Friend Lists” and click “More.”

– Click “Create List” and give it a name.

– Begin typing names in the “Add friends to this list” section.

– Click “Create” to save your new custom list.

7. Editing Smart Lists:

Facebook automatically creates smart lists such as Work, Family, and College based on the information provided by you and your friends. To edit a Smart List:

– Go to the Friend Lists section and click on the Smart List you want to edit.

– Click “Manage List” in the top-right corner and select “Edit List.”

– You can now add or remove friends from this list, which will be reflected in the content and updates you see regarding these lists.

Conclusion:

Now that you know several ways to edit your close friends on Facebook using a PC or Mac, maintaining meaningful connections with those who matter most to you is just a few clicks away. Make sure to frequently review and update this list to keep your Facebook experience tailored specifically for you.
