Streaming platforms have a vast array of movies that can cater to every taste. Whether you’re in the mood for a thought-provoking drama, a belly-aching comedy, or an adrenaline-fueled action movie, there’s something for everyone across services like Netflix, Paramount Plus, Hulu, and more. As weekends can become the perfect time to explore these options and unwind with some quality storytelling, here are seven movies you should definitely check out this weekend:

1.Netflix: “The Irishman” – Directed by Martin Scorsese and showcasing the talents of Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, this epic crime drama spans decades in the life of a mob hitman and his intricate relationships within the criminal underbelly.

2.Paramount Plus: “A Quiet Place” – Experience the intense silence in this gripping thriller directed by John Krasinski. The post-apocalyptic world forces a family to live in near-silence to avoid mysterious creatures with an acute sense of hearing.

3.Hulu: “Palm Springs” – Stuck in a time loop at a wedding in Palm Springs, two guests develop a budding romance while navigating the complexities of living the same day over and over again in this inventive rom-com.

4.Amazon Prime Video: “Sound of Metal” – Riz Ahmed stars as a drummer who begins to lose his hearing and must come to terms with his new reality while exploring what it means to find peace within oneself.

5.Disney+: “Soul” – From Pixar comes an animated feature that delves into themes of passion, purpose, and existence through the story of a music teacher whose soul gets separated from his body after an accident.

6.HBO Max: “Blade Runner 2049” – The visually stunning sequel to Ridley Scott’s original masterpiece offers a neo-noir science fiction adventure starring Ryan Gosling as an LAPD officer who uncovers long-buried secrets that could have grave implications for the future.

7.Apple TV+: “The Banker” – Based on true events, two African American entrepreneurs hire a working-class white man to pose as the head of their business empire while they pose as a janitor and chauffeur, combating racial limitations in the 1960s.

Each movie offers its own unique flavor and storytelling prowess sure to provide entertainment across various genres. So grab some popcorn and make your couch your cinema this weekend!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
