5 Best PGA Tour, LIV Golfers To Never Win A Major Championship, Ranked

Some of the finest golfers in history have illuminated the PGA Tour and, more recently, the LIV Golf Series, dazzling audiences with their skills and prowess on the course. However, not all great golfers have been able to capture one of golf’s most significant accomplishments: winning a major championship. Here’s a look at five of the best golfers to never secure a major title, ranked based on their career achievements and impact on the game.

1.Matt Kuchar

Matt Kuchar stands as one of the most consistent players of his generation. With multiple PGA Tour wins under his belt and an Olympic bronze medal to his name, Kuchar’s finesse and strategic play have kept him competitive in numerous major tournaments. However, he has never managed to claim victory despite several close calls, including a runner-up finish at The Open Championship in 2017.

2.Rickie Fowler

Known for his vibrant personality and colorful attire, Rickie Fowler is one of golf’s most popular figures. He has won five times on the PGA Tour and consistently performed well in majors early in his career, with top-5 finishes in all four majors from 2014 to 2015. Yet despite his talent, Fowler has struggled to break through the elite field and hoist a major trophy.

3.Lee Westwood

Englishman Lee Westwood has been a staple at the top of leaderboards for decades. A former World No. 1, Westwood owns victories around the world but is perhaps best known for his near-misses in majors – with 19 top-10 finishes without a win. His longevity and sustained excellence in the sport earn him high regard despite this gap in his resume.

4.Sergio Garcia before his 2017 Masters win

Sergio Garcia was often labeled as one of the best players without a major until he captured the elusive title at The Masters in 2017. Before that triumph, Garcia had accumulated an impressive array of second-place finishes that left many wondering if he’d ever overcome the hurdle. His pre-Masters career showcased incredible skill and passion but also a series of heartbreaks that many fans empathized with.

5.Colin Montgomerie

Colin Montgomerie topped this list due to his dominant presence in European golf and repeated near misses at major championships – including a staggering five second-place finishes without claiming victory. Montgomerie was renowned for his majestic iron play, which led to unmatched success on the European Tour but, unfortunately for him, never translated into lifting one of golf’s four most prestigious trophies.

While these players have not clinched a major championship victory (with Garcia eventually doing so), they remain integral members of the golf community, showcasing that success isn’t only measured by major titles but also by influence, consistency, and talent displayed throughout one’s career.
