4 Ways to Spin a Fidget Spinner

Fidget spinners have taken the world by storm in recent years, offering a simple yet satisfying way to keep restless hands occupied. Given their popularity, it only makes sense that people might want to figure out different ways they can spin their fidget spinner to keep things interesting. So, without further ado, here are four techniques you can try out for some fidget spinning fun!

1. The Classic Spin

The classic spin is the simplest method and what most people start out with when they first pick up a fidget spinner. Simply hold the center bearing between your thumb and index finger and use your other hand to flick one of the outer arms. This will cause the fidget spinner to rotate around its central axis, providing a hypnotizing spin effect.

2. The One-Finger Balance

Once you have the basic spin down, you can take it up a level by attempting to balance the spinning fidget spinner on just one finger. Start with the classic two-handed spin technique, but as it gains momentum, carefully lift your index finger away from the bearing to balance it on your thumb alone. With practice, you can even transfer the spinning fidget spinner from one finger to another with ease.

3. The Reverse Spin

For those who have mastered the classic spin and seek a little more challenge, give the reverse spin a try! Hold the fidget spinner just as you would for the classic method but flick it in the opposite direction so that it spins in reverse. This may feel a bit awkward at first but adds an additional level of skill and coordination to your fidget-spinning prowess.

4. The Throw & Catch

The throw and catch method are undoubtedly one of the coolest (and riskiest) ways to spin a fidget spinner. Begin by spinning it with one hand; once it’s spinning reasonably fast, gently toss it into the air while keeping an eye on the center bearing. As it comes back down, carefully catch it by the bearing to keep it spinning. This method can be tricky and may take some practice, but it’s an impressive trick when done successfully.

Now that you have some new techniques in your fidget spinning arsenal, it’s time to practice and show off your skills to friends and family. Remember that practice and patience are key, so keep at it, and you’ll become a fidget spinner master in no time!
