4 Ways to Make Money (for Kids)

Are you a kid looking for ways to make your own money? Do you want to save for something special or help with household expenses? Good news! There are plenty of fun and creative ways to earn some extra cash. In this article, we’ll explore four ways kids can make money while learning valuable life skills.

1. Lemonade Stand or Bake Sale

This classic money-making activity is perfect for a sunny day. Not only does it give you a chance to interact with your neighbors and friends, but you’ll also learn valuable lessons about pricing, customer service, and marketing. Make sure you have permission from your parents and that you choose a safe location like the end of your driveway or a busy sidewalk. Get creative with your recipes and decorations to attract more customers and stand out from the competition.

2. Pet Care Services

If you love animals, consider offering pet care services in your neighborhood. Start by asking around your neighborhood if anyone needs help taking care of their pets while they’re away at work or on vacation. You can walk dogs, feed pets, or even offer a pet-sitting service at your home (with parental supervision). This teaches responsibility as well as compassion towards animals while also giving you an opportunity to make some money.

3. Yard Work/Lawn Maintenance

Many homeowners need help maintaining their yards, especially during seasonal changes. Offer to take on tasks such as mowing lawns, raking leaves, or shoveling snow in your area. This work can teach physical endurance, time management, and the value of hard work – all while earning cash!

4. Tutoring Younger Kids

If you excel in a particular subject at school, offer tutoring services to younger kids who may need help. Parents will appreciate the extra assistance for their children, and you’ll gain experience teaching others – something that will not only look great on future college applications but is also a marketable skill as you get older!

These are just a few ideas for money-making opportunities for kids. It is important always to discuss your plans with a parent or guardian to ensure safety and get their support. Once you have the green light, go ahead and start making money while learning valuable skills for the future!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
