4 Ways to Fry Perfectly Round Eggs Every Time

Fried eggs are a staple of breakfast cuisine the world over. From sunny-side-up to over-easy, there’s something about a circle of perfectly cooked egg that just feels right. Yet, achieving those perfectly round edges can be a challenge for even the most skilled of home chefs. If you’ve ever struggled with misshapen or uneven fried eggs, this article is for you. Today, we will be exploring four methods to fry perfectly round eggs every time.

1. Use a Mason Jar Lid

The first method involves using a mason jar lid as a makeshift egg mold. Start by placing the mason jar lid into your frying pan with the outer band facing down and the inner lid pushed up against the band. Once you’ve greased both the pan and the inner edge of the mason jar lid (to prevent sticking), crack your egg into the lid’s opening. Allow it to cook until it reaches your desired consistency, carefully lifting the egg away from the mold as it sets.

2. Cook Inside an Onion Ring

Our next method relies on nature’s own circular produce – an onion ring! Before you begin, slice an onion into rings about half an inch thick, separating them so that you have individual rings to work with. Place one of these onion slices into your pre-greased frying pan and wait for it to soften slightly before cracking an egg right into its center. The onion ring will act as a barrier, keeping your egg with a uniform shape while it cooks.

3. Use Silicone or Metal Egg Rings

A popular and effective way to achieve perfect circles is by using egg rings specially designed for frying round eggs. These handy tools can be found at most kitchen stores and come in various materials such as silicone or metal. Pre-grease and heat your egg ring in a frying pan before cracking your egg directly into it. Cook your egg to the desired level and then gently remove it from the ring using tongs or a spatula.

4. Fry Inside a Bell Pepper Ring

Similar to the onion ring method, this final approach utilizes another common veggie – bell peppers. First, slice a bell pepper into rings about half an inch in thickness, removing any seeds and pith that may be attached. Place your bell pepper ring onto your frying pan and wait for it to soften slightly before cracking an egg inside. The egg’s white will be held in place by the pepper, guiding it towards that perfect circular form we love so much.

In conclusion, you have four great ways to achieve those perfectly round fried eggs every time. Be it through unconventional molds such as mason jar lids and veggies or specifically designed rings for frying, an Instagram-worthy breakfast dish is now within reach! Whichever method you choose, we hope this article has made your culinary quests for circular perfection that much easier. Happy cooking!
