Introduction:

Tilapia is a versatile, lean, and mild-flavored fish that can be cooked in various ways. One popular method is using an oven as it retains the moisture and enhances the flavor without adding too much fat or calories. In this article, we will discuss four delicious ways to cook tilapia in the oven that you can try at home.

1. Baked Tilapia with Lemon and Herbs

Ingredients:

– 4 tilapia fillets

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– Juice of 1 lemon

– Zest of 1 lemon

– Salt and pepper, to taste

– Fresh chopped herbs (parsley, thyme, rosemary)

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.

3. Place tilapia fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4. Brush the fillets evenly with the lemon-herb mixture on both sides.

5. Sprinkle fresh chopped herbs onto the tilapia fillets.

6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the fish flakes easily with a fork.

2. Crispy Breaded Tilapia

Ingredients:

– 4 tilapia fillets

– Salt and pepper, to taste

– ½ cup flour

– 2 eggs, beaten

– 1 cup bread crumbs (plain or seasoned)

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. Season tilapia fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.

3. Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for bread crumbs.

4. Dredge the fillets first in flour, then dip them into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with bread crumbs.

5. Place breaded fillets onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the coating turns golden brown.

3. Garlic Parmesan Broiled Tilapia

Ingredients:

– 4 tilapia fillets

– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

– 1/4 cup softened butter

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to broil on high.

2. In a bowl, mix together grated Parmesan cheese, softened butter, and minced garlic.

3. Season the tilapia fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.

4. Arrange fillets on a greased broiler pan.

5. Spread the Parmesan-garlic mixture evenly over the fillets.

6. Broil the tilapia for about 5 to 6 minutes until the topping is golden brown and bubbly.

4. Honey-Mustard Glazed Tilapia

Ingredients:

– 4 tilapia fillets

– 3 tablespoons honey

– 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
