3 Ways to Wrap Books As a Gift

Introduction:

Everyone loves receiving books as gifts, but sometimes the traditional wrapping paper just doesn’t do these treasures justice. For those looking for creative ways to make their literary presents stand out, we’ve compiled three fantastic wrapping techniques that will impress your recipient and showcase your thoughtfulness.

1. Fabric Wraps:

A fabric wrap is an eco-friendly and reusable alternative to traditional paper. Choose a piece of fabric large enough to cover the book, such as a scarf or a piece of muslin cloth. Place the book in the center of the fabric and fold the top and bottom edges towards the middle, ensuring that they overlap slightly. Then, tie the two sides together in a knot above the book. Finish by tucking a sprig of rosemary or lavender into the knot for added aroma and charm. This wrapping style not only looks beautiful but also provides extra protection for the book’s cover.

2. Brown Paper and Twine:

For a rustic, minimalist look, wrap your book in brown kraft paper. Cut out a piece large enough to comfortably wrap around your book, with some overlap on both ends. Fold one side over to create a clean edge and secure it in place with double-sided tape along the book’s spine. Fold over any excess paper on the shorter sides and create crisp corners by folding them towards the spine as well. Once wrapped, wrap twine several times around both dimensions of the book before tying a bow on top. You can personalize this style further by adding dried flowers, stamped tags or vintage postcards beneath the twine.

3. Personalized Book Jacket:

Designing a custom-made book jacket adds both fun and sentimentality to your gift. To create one, measure your book’s dimensions and cut out a piece of construction paper or cardstock sized accordingly. Use decorative elements like stickers, stamps or stencils to create a personalized cover design. You can also hand-write a special dedication, quote or message that holds meaning for both you and the recipient. Carefully fold the edges of your book jacket around the book’s spine, and tape it in place. This thoughtful touch not only adorns your gift but provides an additional keepsake for the recipient.

Conclusion:

Gifting a book becomes more special when wrapped in a creative and unique way. These three wrapping methods demonstrate thoughtfulness that goes beyond the mere contents of the gift, creating an enjoyable experience for both giver and receiver. So, the next time you have a bibliophile in your life with a celebration on the horizon, try one of these wrapping techniques to make their literary present exceptionally memorable.
