3 Ways to Wear a Graduation Cap

Introduction

Graduation is a significant milestone, and your graduation cap is more than just a symbol of your accomplishments; it’s also an opportunity to express your personal style. Between securing the cap to your head and finding the perfect fashion statement, there’s more than one way to wear that iconic mortarboard. Here, we’ll explore three different approaches to rocking your graduation cap with style and comfort.

1. The Classic Tassel Toss

This classic look will never go out of style. For a traditional appearance, you’ll want to wear your graduation cap flat on the top of your head, parallel to the ground. Ensure the elastic band is properly secured under your chin or behind your ears for optimal comfort.

To get that picturesque tassel toss moment, hang the tassel from the button on the top of the cap before commencement begins. Up until the moment you are given permission, your tassel should be on the right side of your mortarboard. Once you have received your diploma and are ready for that celebratory toss, shift it over to the left side.

2. The Off-the-Shoulder Angle

If you’re looking for a more modern twist on wearing a graduation cap while still maintaining that classic appearance, consider tilting it slightly back on your head at an off-the-shoulder angle. This look offers both style and a chance for better visibility during the ceremony.

Make sure to secure the elastic band snugly behind your ears or beneath your hairline. This will prevent it from slipping off while providing additional stability. Pair this stylish cap look with bold makeup or accessories for added flair.

3. Customizing Your Cap with Personal Touches

Not only is decorating your graduation cap fun, but it also gives you an opportunity to stand out among your fellow graduates and infuse some personality into your big day.

From meaningful quotes and images to glitter and rhinestones, there are endless possibilities for customizing your cap. Whether you want to showcase your individuality, pay homage to your college days or express your excitement for the next chapter of your life, personalizing your mortarboard creates a one-of-a-kind look that is uniquely you.

Conclusion

No matter which path you choose, finding your look for graduation day can be an enjoyable process. Remember to select a style that best represents both who you are and how you want to be remembered as you walk across that stage. Though it might only be one piece of fabric on a cardboard square, with creativity and self-expression, wearing your cap can become an essential part of celebrating your achievements and defining this momentous day.
