3 Ways to Use a Neck Pillow

A neck pillow is an essential travel accessory that provides comfort and support during long hours of sitting in various modes of transportation, like flights, trains or road trips. However, neck pillows can be used in other contexts as well, maximizing their utility and value. In this article, we will discuss three different ways to use a neck pillow for a more comfortable experience.

1.As Lumbar Support

Neck pillows are incredibly versatile and can double as lumbar support when positioned correctly. If you are dealing with lower back pain or discomfort while sitting for extended periods, try placing the neck pillow horizontally against the small of your back. This will ensure proper spine alignment and relieve pressure on your lower back muscles. Make sure to adjust the positioning of the pillow when needed, so it molds to the natural curve of your spine and provides optimal support.

2.As an Armrest

Another way to utilize your neck pillow is by using it as an armrest, especially during long flights or road trips where you are confined to a small space for extended periods. To use the neck pillow as an armrest, simply place it on your lap and rest your arms on each side. This will provide better comfort and alleviate strain on your shoulders and upper back muscles. The soft cushioning of the neck pillow can also help reduce instances of numbing or tingling sensations in the arms after prolonged resting.

3.As a Regular Pillow

If you find yourself in need of a regular pillow when traveling or simply lounging around at home, your trusty neck pillow can come to your rescue once more! Simply fold the ends of the neck pillow towards each other until they touch, creating a donut shape. Use this new shape as a makeshift pillow by supporting your head with it while resting against a wall or any other surface. This can provide comfort during naps or quick breaks without needing to carry around or purchase an additional pillow.

In summary, a neck pillow is a multifunctional accessory that can be used in different ways to enhance your comfort during various activities. By using it as lumbar support, an armrest, or a regular pillow, you can make the most out of your neck pillow and enjoy a more pleasant experience while traveling or relaxing at home.
