3 Ways to Unroot Android

Introduction

Rooting an Android device comes with its perks. By gaining administrative access, you unlock the door to running specialized apps, customizing your device’s interface, and even extending battery life. However, there are times when unrooting your Android smartphone or tablet may be necessary – perhaps you want to install a firmware update, send your device for repair, or maintain warranty support. In this article, we will discuss three easy ways to unroot your Android device.

1. SuperSU App

SuperSU is a popular root management app that is available on Google Play Store. Its user-friendly interface allows you to unroot your device with ease. Here’s how:

a. Install SuperSU from the Google Play Store.

b. Open the app and click on the settings tab.

c. Scroll down to the “Cleanup” section.

d. Tap on “Full Unroot” and follow the prompts to unroot your Android device.

e. Restart your phone or tablet.

Please note that while this method works for most devices, some custom ROMs may not support this app.

2. Firmware Update

Unrooting your Android device can be as simple as updating its firmware to a new version. Follow these steps:

a. Go to “Settings” > “About Phone” or “About Device.”

b. Locate and tap on “Software Update” or “System Update.”

c. If there’s an available update, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.

This method resets your device’s firmware back to factory settings, effectively unrooting it in the process. However, always remember to backup your data before proceeding with this option.

3. Factory Reset

If other methods fail, performing a factory reset remains an effective way to unroot your Android device. To do this:

a. Go to “Settings” > “Backup & Reset.”

b. Tap on “Factory Data Reset,” followed by “Reset Phone.”

c. Confirm the action, and your device will restart.

This method erases all your personal data and applications from the device, including root access. Please back up any important information beforehand.

Conclusion

Unrooting an Android device may be essential for various reasons, but it doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Whether you use the SuperSU app, update your firmware, or reset your device to factory settings, these methods provide straightforward solutions. Always ensure you understand the risks involved and have a backup of your essential data before proceeding with any of these unrooting options.
