Like any device, however, there might be times when you need to reset your Ring Doorbell. In this article, we will outline three ways to reset your Ring Doorbell.

1.Soft Reset using the Ring app:

The first method to reset your Ring Doorbell is via a soft reset using the Ring app. This is useful if you are experiencing technical issues or need to restart your device without losing any settings.

Step 1: Open the Ring app on your smartphone or tablet.

Step 2: Tap on the three lines icon in the top left corner to access the menu.

Step 3: Choose “Devices” and locate your Ring Doorbell from the list.

Step 4: Tap on “Device Health” located at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5: Now, tap on “Reboot Device” and confirm your selection. Your Ring Doorbell will restart and should be working correctly again.

2.Hard Reset via physical button:

If a soft reset did not resolve your issue, you might need to perform a hard reset using the physical button on your device. A hard reset restores your device to its factory settings and erases all data, including video history.

Step 1: Locate the orange reset button on the backside of your Ring Doorbell.

Step 2: Press and hold the orange button for about 15-20 seconds until the device lights flash.

Step 3: Release the button and wait for your Ring Doorbell to power back on. The device will now be restored to its factory settings, and you are required to set it up again using the Ring app.

3.Resetting battery-powered devices:

If your Ring Doorbell is a battery-powered model, you can reset it by removing its battery. This method is convenient if your doorbell is frozen or unresponsive.

Step 1: Carefully remove the faceplate of your Ring Doorbell to access the battery compartment.

Step 2: Slide out the battery and wait for about 30 seconds.

Step 3: Reinsert the battery as well as aligning and securing the faceplate. Your Ring Doorbell should now restart automatically.
