3 Ways to Put Links on Instagram

In today’s social media landscape, Instagram is often at the heart of any successful marketing strategy. One of the key ways in which businesses and influencers can drive engagement and traffic outside of the platform is by adding links to their profile or posts. In this article, we will explore three effective methods that can help you put links on your Instagram account and boost your online presence.

1. Add a Link in Your Bio

The simplest way to include a link on Instagram is to add it to your bio. This link could direct users to your website, blog, or any other desired destination. Here’s how you can add a link in your bio:

Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your phone and navigate to your profile.

Step 2: Tap “Edit Profile” located below your profile picture.

Step 3: In the “Website” section, enter the URL of your preferred web page.

Step 4: Save the changes by tapping “Done” or “Save” in the top right corner.

Remember, you can only add one link within your bio on Instagram.

2. Use Swipe-Up Links in Instagram Stories

For accounts with over 10,000 followers or with a verified status (blue checkmark), you have access to swipe-up links in Instagram Stories. This feature helps drive traffic directly from your stories to specific web pages or products.

Here’s how to add swipe-up links:

Step 1: Create an Instagram Story with photo or video content.

Step 2: Tap the chain-link icon at the top of the screen.

Step 3: Enter your designated URL and tap “Done” or “Save.”

Step 4: Encourage followers to swipe up by adding text or graphics.

Keep in mind that an Instagram Story remains visible for only 24 hours unless you save it as a Highlight on your profile.

3. Utilize Link-in-Profile Services

With third-party link-in-profile apps like Linktree and Shorby, you can list multiple links within a single landing page. Using one of these services allows you to include additional links beyond the single link allowed in your bio.

Here’s how to set up a Linktree:

Step 1: Create an account on Linktree or a similar platform.

Step 2: Add the desired clickable links to your newly created account.

Step 3: Copy the URL provided by the link-in-profile service.

Step 4: Follow the instructions in Method 1 to add the copied URL to your Instagram bio.

By utilizing these three methods, you can effectively use Instagram as a significant part of your marketing strategy, driving engagement and traffic to various online destinations. Experiment with these techniques and choose the one that works best for you and your brand.
