Introduction:

Button earrings are a fun and creative way to express your unique style and personality. They are not only affordable but also easy to make, allowing you to create a variety of designs that can match any outfit. In this article, we will discuss three different ways to make button earrings.

Method 1: Using Flat Button and Earring Posts

Materials:

– Flat buttons with no shank

– Earring posts

– Adhesive (E6000 glue or similar)

– Disposable wooden stick or toothpick

Instructions:

1. Choose flat buttons with interesting designs or colors that will look good when worn as earrings.

2. Use a disposable wooden stick or toothpick to apply a small amount of adhesive onto the back of the button.

3. Carefully place the earring post over the adhesive, ensuring that it is centered on the back of the button.

4. Allow the adhesive to dry as per the instructions found on the packaging.

5. Once the adhesive is completely dry, your button earrings are ready to wear.

Method 2: Using Shank Buttons and Wire Loops

Materials:

– Shank buttons

– 20-gauge wire

– Round-nose pliers

– Wire cutters

– Jump rings

– Fishhook earring hooks

Instructions:

1. Cut a 2-inch length of wire.

2. Thread the wire through the shank of the button and bend both ends upward at a 90-degree angle using round-nose pliers.

3. Wrap one end of the wire around your round-nose pliers, creating a loop.

4. Tightly wrap the second end around the first wire just below the loop several times, and trim any excess wire with your wire cutters.

5. Attach a jump ring through the wire loop.

6. Connect the fishhook earring hook to the jump ring.

7. Repeat steps 1-6 for the second earring to complete your set.

Method 3: Using Fabric Covered Buttons and Earring Hooks

Materials:

– Fabric covered buttons with wire loop shank

– Earring hooks

– Jump rings

– Needle-nose pliers

Instructions:

1. Choose fabric-covered buttons that coordinate well with your accessories or clothing.

2. Use needle-nose pliers to open the jumping, and thread it through the wire loop shank on the back of the button.

3. Close the jump ring securely with your needle-nose pliers.

4. Attach an earring hook to the jump ring.

5. Repeat steps 2-4 for the second earring to complete your set.

Conclusion:

These three methods for making button earrings are all simple yet effective ways to create unique and stylish accessories. With a little creativity, you can create various designs that suit your style and preferences. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different materials and techniques to discover new possibilities in button earring design!
