3 Ways to Hide Your Number on WhatsApp

Privacy is an increasing concern in our digital age, and people are constantly looking for ways to protect their personal information. When it comes to messaging apps like WhatsApp, one privacy concern that users often have is hiding their phone number. In this article, we’ll explore three methods that can help you conceal your number on WhatsApp.

1.Use a Virtual Phone Number

One way to keep your personal number private on WhatsApp is by using a virtual phone number. A virtual number works as a regular phone number, but it’s not tied to any specific mobile device or SIM card. There are various apps and online services that offer virtual phone numbers, like Google Voice or TextNow.

To get started with a virtual phone number, follow these steps:

Choose an app or online service that provides virtual numbers and sign up for an account.

Select a new phone number from the available options.

Install WhatsApp on your device and enter the virtual phone number during the registration process.

You’ll receive the verification code through the app or online service you used to get the virtual number.

Complete the registration process by entering the verification code in WhatsApp.

2.Create a Secondary Profile with a New SIM Card

Another option for hiding your primary phone number on WhatsApp is by creating a secondary profile using a new SIM card. This method requires you to use a dual-SIM smartphone or carry two separate mobile devices.

Here’s how to create a secondary profile with a new SIM card:

Purchase and activate a new SIM card with a different phone number than your primary one.

Install the SIM card into your device, either as the second SIM in a dual-SIM smartphone or in another device.

Install and set up WhatsApp using the new phone number.

When prompted for verification, enter the SMS code sent to your new SIM card.

3.Use the “Hide Online Status” Feature in WhatsApp

Although this method doesn’t actually hide your phone number, it does help to protect your privacy while using WhatsApp. The “Hide Online Status” feature lets you disable the visibility of your “online” status or “last seen” timestamp. This makes it more difficult for people to determine when you’re available or active on the messaging app.

To hide your online status in WhatsApp, follow these steps:

Open WhatsApp and navigate to the settings menu.

Tap on “Account” and then select “Privacy.”

In the Privacy settings, tap on “Last Seen” and choose “Nobody.” This will hide your last seen timestamp from everyone.

Note that while this setting increases privacy, it also prevents you from seeing others’ last seen timestamps.

In conclusion, there are various ways to enhance your privacy on WhatsApp without sacrificing connectivity with friends and family. By using a virtual phone number, creating a secondary profile with a new SIM card, or hiding your online status, you can maintain private communication and keep your phone number hidden from other users.
