Iconic and timeless, the movie “Grease” has enchanted audiences for decades with its catchy tunes, unforgettable dance numbers, and memorable fashion. One of the most beloved characters in the film is Sandra Dee, better known as Sandy. Played by Olivia Newton-John, her transformation from a goody-two-shoes girl to a sultry heartbreaker captured our hearts. Her hairstyles throughout the movie were simply unforgettable. If you want to channel your inner Sandy, here are three ways to do your hair just like her:

1. Sweet and Innocent Sandy:

In the beginning of the movie, Sandy is seen with her hair styled in a classic ponytail, which reflects her wholesome image. To achieve this look:

a. Start with clean, dry hair.

b. Brush your hair thoroughly to remove any tangles or knots.

c. Gently tease the hair at the crown of your head for some volume.

d. Gather your hair into a high ponytail at the back of your head and secure using a hair tie.

e. For an added touch of cuteness, tie a ribbon around the base of the ponytail.

2. Curly Sandy:

Throughout most of the film, Sandy sports loose, voluminous curls that perfectly frame her face. To get this hairstyle:

a. Prepare your clean, dry hair by applying a heat protectant spray.

b. Use a wide-barrel curling iron to create large curls all around your head.

c. Run your fingers through your curls to create a more relaxed look and add some volume.

d. Lightly spritz hairspray to hold the curls in place.

3. Bad Girl Sandy:

Sandy’s stunning transformation in the film’s climax left us all awestruck. This final look is edgy and sexy – perfect for those wanting to replicate her bad girl image:

a. Begin by parting your hair into two sections – front and back.

b. For the front section, apply a generous amount of hair gel or mousse to slick down the hair at the crown of your head.

c. Comb the front section and mold it into a tight, smooth roll (known as a quiff) that extends from your forehead to the back of your head.

d. Secure the quiff with bobby pins to ensure it holds its shape.

e. For the back section, divide it into small portions, and tease each one, creating volume and texture in your hair.

f. Gather all teased strands into a high ponytail and secure with a hair tie.

g. Complete your bad girl look by applying hairspray for hold.

Experiment with these three Sandy-inspired hairstyles to capture her iconic presence and channel your inner Grease lightning!
