3 Ways to Do Space Buns

Introduction:

Space buns, a popular hairstyle that takes inspiration from the galaxy far, far away, have become a go-to look for festivals and casual outings alike. Here are three different approaches to create your own space buns and rock this out-of-this-world hairstyle.

1. Classic Space Buns:

The classic space bun look consists of two small buns on either side of the head.

Step 1: Start with clean, dry hair. It’s best to have your hair slightly textured for better grip. You can use a texturizing spray or dry shampoo if needed.

Step 2: Part your hair down the middle using a tail-comb.

Step 3: Create two high pigtails on either side of the part and secure them with hair ties.

Step 4: Twist each pigtail individually and then wrap it around its base to form a bun. Secure it with bobby pins.

Step 5: Gently pull on the edges of each bun for added texture and volume, and finish with hairspray.

2. Braided Space Buns:

A braided twist on space buns for added flair.

Step 1: Follow steps 1-3 from Classic Space Buns.

Step 2: Instead of twisting each pigtail, divide each pigtail into three sections and create a simple braid.

Step 3: Wrap the braided pigtail around its base to form a bun and secure it with bobby pins.

Step 4: Repeat on the other side.

Step 5: Gently pull on the edges of each braided bun for added texture and volume, and finish with hairspray.

3. Half-Up Space Buns:

A perfect option for those who want to showcase long, flowing locks alongside their space buns.

Step 1: Start with clean, dry hair. Use texturizing spray or dry shampoo if needed.

Step 2: Section the top half of your hair by drawing a horizontal part from ear to ear.

Step 3: Divide the top half into two equal sections and create two high pigtails on either side of the head, securing them with hair ties.

Step 4: Twist each pigtail individually and wrap it around its base to form a bun. Secure it with bobby pins.

Step 5: Gently pull on the edges of each bun for added texture and volume, and finish with hairspray.

Conclusion:

Space buns are a versatile hairstyle that can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. With these three approaches, you will have different ways to flaunt this trendy look. Don’t be afraid to get creative by adding accessories like glitter or hair rings for a personalized touch. Happy styling!
