Introduction:

Recliner sofas are known for their comfort and convenience. They can usually be adjusted to different positions, providing users with optimal relaxation. However, there comes a time when we may need to dismantle a recliner sofa, whether due to relocation or simply upgrading to a new one. In this article, we will discuss three safe and efficient ways to dismantle a recliner sofa.

1. Manual Dismantling

Step by Step Guide:

1. Remove any cushions or pillows from the sofa.

2. Locate the release mechanism for the reclining function (usually a lever or button on the side).

3. Push the release mechanism and gently lower the reclining backrest completely.

4. Look for any screws or bolts securing the armrests, seat, and backrest in place, then remove them with an appropriate screwdriver or wrench.

5. Lift off each section carefully and set aside.

6. Once all pieces are detached, arrange them in a way that makes transporting them easier.

2. Using Furniture Slider Tools

Step by Step Guide:

1. Remove any cushions or pillows from the sofa.

2. Disengage the reclining function by following step c under Manual Dismantling.

3 Place furniture sliders under each corner of the sofa base.

4. Use these sliders to help you easily move the sofa into your desired position, preferably close to an exit point like a door or hallway.

5. One by one, dismantle each section of the sofa as described in steps d and e under Manual Dismantling.

6. Organize dismantled pieces for easy transport.

3. Hiring Professional Movers

Step by Step Guide:

1. Research reputable moving companies that offer furniture dismantling services in your area.

2. Contact potential movers for quotes and details on their expertise in dismantling and reassembling recliner sofas.

3. Choose a reliable and experienced mover based on your budget and requirements.

4. Schedule a date for the mover to dismantle your sofa and provide them with any necessary information regarding your furniture (make, model, special features).

5. The professionals will come to your home, disassemble the sofa safely, and transport the pieces to your desired location.

Conclusion:

Dismantling a recliner sofa can be an easy task if done correctly. Always prioritize safety when attempting these methods, and if you’re unsure about taking on the task yourself, hiring professional movers is a convenient alternative. Regardless of the method you choose, be sure to carefully follow instructions provided by both this guide and your specific sofa’s manufacturer to ensure a successful dismantling experience.
