Introduction:

Creating polls can be an excellent method to involve your Discord community and gather opinions on various topics. It’s a great way to engage with users by seeking their input on certain issues and making them feel heard and valued. In this article, we will discuss three ways to create a poll in a Discord chat on a PC or Mac for seamless interaction with your server members.

1. Using Discord Built-in Poll Feature:

Discord now has the built-in ability to create polls using its native “Slash Commands.” To use this feature, follow these steps:

a. Open a text channel in your Discord server where you want to create the poll.

b. Begin typing “/poll” in the chat and then select “/poll [create] […options]” from the list of suggestions.

c. Fill out the necessary details, such as poll question and answer options (up to 10). Once completed, press ‘Enter.’

d. Your poll will now appear in the chat for everyone to vote on.

Note that slash commands are case-sensitive.

2. Using Polly Bot:

Polly is a popular bot that can help you create polls within your Discord server easily. Following are the steps to add Polly bot and set up a poll:

a. Visit https://www.polly.ai/discord/ and click ‘Invite Polly’ to invite the bot to your Discord server.

b. Log in with your Discord credentials and give Polly Bot required permissions.

c. Start by typing “!createpoll” followed by your poll question in any text channel.

d. Add reaction emojis as per your preference for each of the answer options for users to cast their votes.

e. Users can now vote by selecting specific emojis associated with each possible answer.

3. Using StrawPoll.me Website:

StrawPoll.me is an external website where you can easily create polls and share them on your Discord server. Here’s how to do it:

a. Visit https://www.strawpoll.me/ in your browser.

b. Fill in your poll question and answer options (up to 30).

c. Select the additional settings for your poll as per your preference (e.g., duplicate vote checking, multiple answers, etc.).

d. Click “Create Poll” and generate a unique link for your poll.

e. Share the link in your Discord chat to allow users to vote via the website.

Conclusion:

These are three different ways to create a poll on Discord using a PC or Mac. By engaging with your community through polls, you can gather valuable insights and make informed decisions about various discussions and debates happening within your server. Pick any of these methods and start creating polls that cater to your server’s specific needs!
