3 Ways to Cheat on a Test Using School Supplies

Introduction:

Exams can be stressful and challenging, causing some students to resort to cheating in order to obtain better marks. Although it is not recommended or ethical, this article explores three ways students have cheated on tests using everyday school supplies. The objective is to raise awareness of these tactics so educators can be prepared to prevent cheating in their classrooms.

1. The Eraser Method:

One of the more discreet ways of cheating involves the use of an eraser. Students can write tiny notes or formulas on an eraser, which can be easily concealed within their hand. When the student needs to check their notes, they can subtly glance at the eraser without drawing any suspicion. To prevent this from happening, teachers can require that students use school-supplied erasers during an exam.

2. The Pen Trick:

Another method employed by students would be hiding cheat sheets within a pen. Some pens have a removable barrel that could store a small piece of paper wrapped around it. This little cheat sheet can contain answers or formulas that the student may need during the test.

To discourage this cheating method, teachers can request that students utilize transparent pens or provide them with standardized pens for exams. Doing so will eliminate any opportunity for students to conceal notes within writing utensils.

3. Hidden Notebooks:

While notebooks are generally used for taking notes during classes, they can also serve as a conduit for cheating during exams. A common practice involves creating a false bottom in a notebook, where cheat sheets can be hidden beneath it.

Teachers should be aware of this possibility and inspect notebooks carefully before allowing them into the testing environment. It may also be useful to implement guidelines such as having only a certain number of loose papers allowed within a notebook and requiring that these be visible throughout the test.

Conclusion:

The methods presented above are just some examples of how creative individuals might use everyday school supplies to cheat on tests. While discussing these strategies might seem counterproductive, it is vital for educators to understand the various ploys and tactics students may employ to gain an advantage during exams. By being aware of these cheating methods, teachers can be vigilant and proactive in promoting a fair and honest environment in their classrooms.
