Introduction

There are times when you need to convert a Word document to JPEG format, a common image file format that is widely supported and easily shared. Whether it’s for sharing on social media or embedding an image into an email, transforming your Word document into a JPEG can be incredibly useful. In this article, we will discuss three easy methods to change a Word document into a JPEG.

1. Use the ‘Save As’ Function in Microsoft Word

The simplest way to convert a Word document to JPEG format is by using the built-in ‘Save As’ function in Microsoft Word.

Step-by-step guide:

a. Open the Word document you want to convert.

b. Click on the ‘File’ tab in the top-left corner.

c. Select ‘Save As’.

d. Click on the ‘Browse’ button.

e. In the ‘Save as type’ dropdown menu, scroll down and select ‘Web Page (*.htm; *.html)’.

f. Save the file and open it with an internet browser (such as Google Chrome).

g. Right-click on the browser window and choose ‘Save Image As…”

h. Choose ‘JPEG’ or ‘.jpg’ from the ‘Save as type’ dropdown menu.

i. Save your new JPEG file in your desired location.

2. Use an Online Conversion Tool

Another easy method is utilizing one of the many online conversion tools available on the internet.

Step-by-step guide:

a. Open your web browser and find an online file conversion tool, such as Smallpdf, Zamzar, or Online-Convert.

b. Select ‘Word to JPG/JPEG’ or choose similar conversion options.

c. Upload your Word document by clicking on ‘Choose Files’.

d. Wait for the conversion process to complete (this may take a few minutes).

e. Download your newly created JPEG image.

3. Use Third-party Software

If you frequently need to convert Word documents to JPEG files, you may want to consider using a third-party software. These applications are designed specifically for converting files and may offer additional features and support.

Step-by-step guide:

a. Download and install a third-party conversion software, such as Universal Document Converter or Total Doc Converter.

b. Open the application and load your Word document by clicking on ‘Add Files’ or a similar button.

c. Choose the ‘JPEG’ format from the offered output options.

d. Customize any advanced settings if necessary (such as resolution, compression, etc.)

e. Click on ‘Convert’ or a similar button to start the conversion process.

f. Save your new JPEG file in the desired location.

Conclusion

Converting a Word document to JPEG format is simple and can be accomplished using one of these three methods: using Microsoft Word’s built-in ‘Save As’ function, an online conversion tool, or third-party software. Choose whichever method works best for your needs and enjoy your new JPEG image!
