3 Ways to Apply Makeup to Look More Masculine

Makeup has long been associated with femininity, but it can be a powerful tool for anyone looking to enhance or change their appearance. For those who want to create a more masculine look, makeup can play a significant role in achieving this goal. Here are three ways to apply makeup that will help you appear more masculine.

1. Contour and Define Your Facial Features

One of the primary ways to create a more masculine appearance is by emphasizing the angles and structure of your face. To do this, you should use contouring and highlighting techniques.

First, choose a matte bronzer or contour powder that is two shades darker than your skin tone. Apply it along the perimeter of your face, focusing on areas such as the jawline, temples, cheekbones, and the sides of your nose. This will help create sharper angles on your face.

After contouring, you should also highlight key areas using a matte highlighting powder or concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your skin tone. Areas you can emphasize include the brow bone, bridge of the nose, and center of the forehead. This step helps make these features stand out and appear more prominent.

2. Create Bold Brows

Eyebrows play a major role in shaping our facial expressions and influence how others perceive us. To achieve a more masculine look, aim for thicker and fuller brows.

First, brush your eyebrows upward with a spoolie brush to determine their natural shape. Next, use an eyebrow pencil or powder that closely matches your natural brow color. Fill in any gaps using short strokes, mimicking the direction of hair growth. Finally, use an eyebrow gel to set your brows in place.

Remember that practice makes perfect when it comes to creating bold brows – don’t worry if you don’t get it right on your first try.

3. Enhance Facial Hair

If you naturally have facial hair or wish to create the illusion of it, makeup can also be used here. For those with existing facial hair, use a tinted brow gel or mascara to darken and thicken your beard, mustache, or other facial hair. Ensure the color matches your natural hair color for a more convincing appearance.

If you don’t have facial hair and want to create the illusion of it, use an eyebrow pencil or powder that matches your desired facial hair color. Draw short strokes to mimic the appearance of hair in areas where you want more growth. Be sure to blend these in well to avoid a artificial look.

In Conclusion

Makeup can be a valuable tool for those seeking a more masculine appearance. By contouring and defining facial features, creating bold brows, and enhancing facial hair, you can successfully achieve the look you desire. Remember that practice is key when it comes to mastering these techniques – so keep experimenting until you’ve perfected your new masculine makeup routine.
