Introduction

Double tap screen is a feature available on most smartphones, which allows users to wake up or sleep the screen by simply tapping twice on the display. This functionality not only provides quick access to your device but also helps prevent any accidental touches while it is in your pocket or bag. In this article, we will discuss three ways to activate the double tap screen feature on your smartphone.

1. Enable Double Tap Screen in Settings

The first and most common way to activate the double tap screen feature is through your smartphone’s settings. Here’s how you can do it:

a. Open the “Settings” app on your smartphone.

b. Scroll down and look for “Display” or “Gesture & Motion” options, as this may vary depending on the device and its manufacturer.

c. Inside the “Display” or “Gesture & Motion” settings, search for an option called “Double Tap to Wake” or “Double Tap to Sleep.”

d. Toggle that option ON to activate the double tap screen feature.

2. Use Third-Party Apps

If you are unable to find a built-in double tap screen feature on your device, you can resort to third-party apps available for download from Google Play Store or App Store. Apps like KnockOn – Double Tap to Wake and Dot Locker have been known for their effectiveness in providing similar functionalities.

a. Download a reputable double tap app from the respective app store.

b. Open the downloaded app and follow its setup instructions, which usually involve granting permissions.

c. Locate and activate the double tap screen option within the app settings.

3. Custom ROM

If none of the above methods work for you, consider installing a custom ROM (Read-Only Memory) that supports the double tap screen feature. Keep in mind that flashing a new ROM may require advanced technical knowledge and has potential risks associated with it like bricking your device or losing data. This option is recommended for experienced users only.

a. Research and select a compatible custom ROM that supports the double tap screen feature for your specific device model.

b. Follow the instructions provided by the ROM developer to flash it onto your device, ensuring you have necessary backups in place.

c. Once installed, navigate to the ROM settings and enable the double tap screen feature.

Conclusion

The double tap screen feature can be quite convenient, allowing you to quickly wake up or sleep your smartphone display. By enabling this feature through built-in settings, using third-party apps, or installing a custom ROM, you can experience the benefits of having a double tap screen. Experiment with these three methods and enjoy effortless access to your device at any time.
