3 Simple Ways to Eat Chicken and Waffles

Chicken and waffles is a delightful combination of crispy fried chicken and warm, fluffy waffles. It’s a versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you’re looking to experiment with this iconic pairing, here are three simple ways to eat chicken and waffles.

1. Classic Southern Style

For a traditional Southern take on chicken and waffles, start by frying the chicken in a well-seasoned batter until it reaches a golden brown color. For the waffles, prepare a thick batter and pour it into a piping hot waffle iron. Once both components are ready, place the fried chicken on top of the waffle and drizzle with warm maple syrup. The sweetness of the syrup complements the savory chicken, creating a scrumptious harmony of flavors.

2. Chicken and Waffle Sandwich

For an easy-to-eat version of chicken and waffles, try turning it into a sandwich. Prepare fried chicken tenders or boneless pieces, along with two smaller-sized waffles for use as “bread.” Stack the chicken between the two waffles and add your choice of toppings such as lettuce, coleslaw, tomato slices, or pickles. Finish off with a drizzle of maple syrup or a savory sauce like ranch or honey mustard.

3. Chicken and Waffle Bites with Spicy Dipping Sauce

For a creative appetizer or finger food option, create bite-sized portions of this delicious combination. Cut mini waffles using a small cookie cutter or make them using a mini-waffle iron. Next, prepare popcorn chicken or slice tenders into smaller pieces that fit on top of the mini-waffles. Once you’ve assembled your bites by placing the fried chicken on top of each mini-waffle, skewer them with toothpicks for easy handling. Add an exciting twist to your dish by serving these bite-sized treats with a spicy dipping sauce, like sriracha-based or buffalo sauce.

No matter which way you choose to enjoy chicken and waffles, the mouth-watering combination of savory and sweet flavors is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied. Give any of these three simple methods a try and discover a new favorite way to eat this classic dish.
