3 Easy Ways to Fix a Wrap Dress Neckline

A wrap dress is a timeless and elegant piece of clothing that belongs in every woman’s wardrobe. It’s versatile, easy to wear, and perfect for a wide range of occasions. However, one issue that some women face with wrap dresses is an ill-fitting or gape-prone neckline. This can make the dress uncomfortable or revealing to wear, but don’t worry! Here are three easy ways to fix that wrap dress neckline and enjoy this wardrobe staple without any concerns.

1. Sew on Snaps or Hooks

One of the simplest ways to fix a wrap dress neckline is by adding snaps or hooks. They not only help keep the neckline secure but also allow for some adjustability depending on your personal preferences.

To do this, simply follow these steps:

– Try on the dress and determine where you’d like the neckline to sit.

– Mark the desired location with a fabric pen or a safety pin.

– Choose either snaps or hook-and-eye closures, available at any fabric store.

– Sew them onto the marked spots, making sure they align properly when the dress is worn.

This method ensures that your wrap dress remains securely in place while giving you the ability to customize its fit.

2. Use Double-Sided Fashion Tape

If you’re looking for a temporary solution or don’t have sewing skills, double-sided fashion tape can be your quick fix. This type of tape adheres strongly to both your skin and fabric without damaging either, so it’s perfect for keeping your wrap dress neckline in place throughout the day.

To use fashion tape:

– Cut small pieces of tape that are around 1-inch long.

– Remove one side of the backing and attach the exposed adhesive section to the edge of your neckline where you’d like it to sit.

– Remove the other side of the backing and then press the neckline securely onto your skin.

Ensure that you apply the tape to clean, dry skin for the best results. Fashion tape is available at many department stores and online retailers.

3. Adjust Shoulder Straps

Another way to fix a wrap dress neckline is by adjusting its shoulder straps, as they affect how high or low the neckline sits on your chest. If your wrap dress has adjustable straps, simply tighten or loosen them to achieve your desired fit. For dresses with non-adjustable straps, you can either shorten them yourself with sewing or take it to a professional tailor.

To adjust the shoulder straps:

– Determine the desired length for a comfortable fit and mark the spot on the strap.

– If you’re sewing it yourself, use a sewing machine or hand-sew to shorten the strap at the marked location, before trimming off any excess fabric.

By using one of these three easy methods, you can fix your wrap dress neckline issues without much hassle. No more worrying about gaping necklines and constant readjusting – now you can confidently wear your wrap dress and look effortlessly chic!
