Introduction:

In the digital age, we often come across the need to enable 3rd party cookies on our devices. This is important for many websites’ functionality and helps us have a seamless browsing experience. If you are a Mac user looking for ways to allow 3rd party cookies on your device, we have put together three easy methods just for you.

1. Enable 3rd Party Cookies on Safari:

Step 1: Launch Safari from your dock or Applications folder.

Step 2: Click on “Safari” in the top-left corner of the screen, and choose “Preferences” from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: In the Preferences window, click on the “Privacy” tab.

Step 4: Under “Cookies and website data,” select the “Allow from websites I visit” option. This will enable third-party cookies for websites that you frequently visit.

Step 5: Close the Preferences window and restart Safari for changes to take effect.

2. Enable 3rd Party Cookies on Google Chrome:

Step 1: Open Google Chrome from your dock or Applications folder.

Step 2: Click on the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the screen, and choose “Settings” from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Scroll down and click on “Advanced” to expand additional options.

Step 4: Under the “Privacy and security” section, find and click on “Site settings.”

Step 5: Locate “Cookies and site data,” click on it, and toggle on “Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended).”

Step 6: Ensure that “Block third-party cookies” is toggled off to allow third-party cookies to be used.

Step 7: Close Settings and restart Chrome for changes to take effect.

3. Enable 3rd Party Cookies on Firefox:

Step 1: Open Firefox from your dock or Applications folder.

Step 2: Click on the three-line menu in the top-right corner of the screen, and choose “Preferences” from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Locate and click on “Privacy & Security” in the left menu.

Step 4: Scroll down to find the “Cookies and Site Data” section, and click “Manage Permissions.”

Step 5: In the “Exceptions” window, add websites for which you want to allow third-party cookies individually.

Step 6: Click on “Allow” after adding each website, and then click “Save Changes.”

Step 7: Close Preferences and restart Firefox for changes to take effect.

Conclusion:

Allowing 3rd party cookies on your Mac can significantly enhance your browsing experience by providing a more personalized experience based on your preferences. Now that you know how easy it is to enable them on Safari, Google Chrome, and Firefox, you can enjoy all that your favorite websites have to offer. However, remember to manage your privacy settings periodically, as uncontrolled third-party cookies can pose security risks. Happy browsing!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
