The BMW M2, the compact powerhouse in BMW‘s M lineup, receives a series of updates for the 2025 model year, further enhancing its performance and appeal to driving enthusiasts.

The most significant change for 2025 is under the hood, where the M2’s 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine receives a power boost. Output now stands at 473 horsepower, an increase of 20 horsepower over the previous model. Torque remains unchanged at 406 lb-ft for models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, while those with the optional eight-speed automatic see an increase to 442 lb-ft.

This power boost translates to improved performance figures, with BMW claiming a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds for manual transmission models and 3.9 seconds for those equipped with the automatic. Top speed remains electronically limited to 155 mph, or 177 mph with the optional M Driver’s Package.

Visually, the 2025 M2 receives subtle updates, including new paint options such as Sao Paulo Yellow, Vegas Red metallic, and Portimao Blue metallic. BMW has also introduced new wheel designs, maintaining the staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear setup.

Inside, the M2 benefits from an updated infotainment system running BMW‘s latest iDrive 8.5 software. A new flat-bottomed steering wheel with a red center marker enhances the sporty feel, and carbon fiber bucket seats are now available as a standalone option.

The 2025 M2 continues to offer a unique proposition in the compact sports car segment, combining powerful performance with everyday usability. Its rear-wheel-drive layout and available manual transmission make it a favorite among driving purists.

With a starting price of $66,075, the 2025 BMW M2 represents a slight increase over the previous model year. However, given the power increase and additional features, it continues to offer strong value in the high-performance compact luxury segment.
