The 2024 BMW 5 Series, along with its all-electric sibling, the i5, have officially made their debut in China. With a longer wheelbase and exclusive features tailored specifically for the Chinese market, the two models are expected to make waves in the luxury automotive segment.

Longer wheelbase for comfort and space

In keeping with Chinese consumers’ preference for spacious interiors and enhanced rear-end comfort, both models feature a longer wheelbase. The 2024 BMW 5 Series and i5 boast an increased wheelbase length of 133 mm (5.2 inches) compared to their standard counterparts sold in other markets.

Exclusive Features

In response to Chinese customers’ high expectations for luxury and unique design elements, BMW has incorporated several exclusive features into its new models – the 2024 BMW 5 Series and i5. These include a redesigned front grille to emphasize presence on the road, bespoke trim elements in rich woods or brushed metal finishes, and embroidered badging on the headrests.

All-Electric Power

The BMW i5 takes electric mobility to a whole new level by offering up to 300 hp in the base model configuration. The vehicle also boasts an impressive range of up to 500 km (310 miles) on a single charge, ensuring drivers can enjoy uninterrupted journeys while reducing their carbon footprint.

Luxurious Interior

Both cars feature premium leather upholstery, ambient lighting options, and sophisticated infotainment systems with large touchscreens. Furthermore, rear passengers in the longer-wheelbase versions can enjoy additional legroom and relaxation options like heated reclining seats or even adjustable footrests on select trims.

Advanced Technology

BMW has always been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to technology. The new BMW 5 Series and i5 come equipped with cutting-edge features like semi-autonomous driving capabilities, an augmented reality head-up display that presents important information in the driver’s line of sight, and the latest BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant for personalized voice-command functionality.

Conclusion

The 2024 BMW 5 Series and i5 models, with their longer wheelbase and exclusive features, have been carefully tailored to cater to the needs and preferences of Chinese consumers. With elegant design, luxurious interiors, advanced technology, and the i5’s all-electric powertrain, they are bound to make a strong statement in China’s competitive luxury segment.
