Tokyo, a city renowned for its dynamic food and beverage scene, has once again proven its global cocktail credibility with two of its esteemed bars shining on the 2024 World’s 50 Best Bars list. The coveted list, which celebrates the best of international bar talent, innovation, and ambiance, has spotlighted Tokyo as a must-visit destination for beverage enthusiasts.

First on the list from Tokyo is Bar High Five, which continues its legacy as a cocktail institution under the guidance of legendary mixologist Hidetsugu Ueno. This bar, tucked away in the chic Ginza district, has long been celebrated for its precise craftsmanship and exceptional service. With a menu that combines classic cocktails with innovative Japanese twists, Bar High Five has established itself as a pilgrimage site for cocktail aficionados.

The second bar to earn a spot on the prestigious list is The SG Club. Helmed by mixologist Shingo Gokan, The SG Club offers a multi-faceted drinking experience across its layers – ‘Sip’ for classic cocktail enjoyment and ‘Guzzle’ for more casual imbibing. The SG Club’s unique concept of combining international influences with local flavors has resonated well with both locals and international visitors; it’s not just a bar but an immersive cultural experience.

Both establishments represent the pinnacle of Tokyo’s bar scene and illustrate what makes this city’s nightlife unique. From impeccable attention to detail to innovative flavor combinations and outstanding hospitality – cocktails lovers know that when in Tokyo, these are the places to be. As the World’s 50 Best Bars list indicates for 2024, these establishments aren’t just favorites among locals; they’ve charmed visitors worldwide and have firmly positioned Tokyo on the global drinking map.
