1. Crowdfunding Campaigns: Embrace the power of online fundraising by setting up crowdfunding campaigns. These campaigns can be easily shared on social media and can tap into a broader audience.

2. Charity Auctions: Organize charity auctions where people can donate items, services, or experiences to be auctioned off, with all proceeds going towards your nonprofit organization.

3. Peer-to-Peer Fundraising: Encourage supporters to create their own fundraising pages and share them online with their network. This helps amplify your cause and gives supporters a personal connection to the campaign.

4. T-shirt Sales: Design customized T-shirts featuring your nonprofit’s logo or message and sell them to supporters. Not only do you raise funds, but also you create walking advertisements for your organization.

5. Matching Gifts: Partner with corporations that offer matching gift programs. Encourage donors to check if their employers will match their contributions to double the impact of their donations.

6. Special Events: Host events like galas, dinners, or concerts to generate excitement and enthusiasm for your cause, in addition to raising funds through ticket sales.

7. Online Donation Pages: Make it easy for supporters to donate online by setting up a user-friendly donation page on your website or through a trusted third-party platform.

8. Pledge Drives: Organize pledge drives in which donors contribute a specific amount per unit achieved (like laps run, books read) over a designated period of time.

9. Raffles or 50/50 Draws: Sell tickets for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses or split the pot cash prize between the winner and your organization.

10. Sponsored Challenges: Secure corporate sponsorships that provide funding when participants complete challenges such as walkathons or marathons in support of your nonprofit.

11. In-Kind Donations: Reach out to businesses or individuals to provide goods or services at no cost, which can be used to support your programs or fundraising efforts.

12. Giving Circles: Form a local giving circle by bringing like-minded donors together to make collective decisions on which nonprofits and projects they want to support.

13. Grant Writing: Apply for various grants from foundations, corporations, or government agencies that align with your mission and programs.

14. Text-to-Give Campaigns: Simplify the donation process by enabling donors to make contributions via text message. This method is convenient and can lead to increased donations.

15. Annual Fund Campaigns: Start an annual fund campaign where supporters can commit to donating a specific amount each year, providing your organization with a more reliable source of income.

With these 15 fundraising ideas in mind, nonprofits can explore different methods of generating income while engaging their community and supporters in innovative ways.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
