The United States has always had a love affair with speed, and the auto industry has responded by creating some of the fastest cars in the world. Whether it’s raw engine power or cutting-edge engineering, this list celebrates the ultimate speed demons available for purchase. Here are 14 of the fastest cars you can buy in America.

1. Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ – With a top speed of over 300 mph, the Chiron Super Sport 300+ is a testament to Bugatti’s engineering prowess and is arguably the fastest production car available.

2. Hennessey Venom F5 – Claiming a top speed of 301 mph and equipped with a monstrous 1,817 horsepower engine, this hypercar aims to put Hennessey at the forefront of high-speed automotive performance.

3. Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut – This Swedish marvel is designed to exceed 330 mph thanks to its 1,600 horsepower engine, making it Koenigsegg’s fastest car ever produced.

4. SSC Tuatara – SSC North America claims that its Tuatara hypercar, with an output of over 1,750 horsepower, has reached speeds exceeding 330 mph, though this is subject to verification.

5. Tesla Roadster (2022) – Tesla’s upcoming Roadster promises to be the fastest accelerating car in production, with a claimed 0-60 time of under 1.9 seconds and a top speed over 250 mph.

6. Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8 – With a top speed of 194 mph and an impressive sub-three second sprint to 60 mph, the C8 brings supercar performance at a more accessible price point.

7. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye – An American muscle icon, the Hellcat Redeye boasts up to 797 horsepower and can hit speeds of up to 203 mph.

8. Ford GT – Ford’s supercar combines aerodynamic design with a potent twin-turbocharged V6 engine for a top speed of 216 mph.

9. McLaren 765LT – This limited-run supercar can reach top speeds of up to 205 mph and go from standstill to 60 mph in just about 2.7 seconds.

10. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ – With its naturally aspirated V12 producing around 759 horsepower, this bold Lamborghini can reach speeds up to 217 mph.

11. Ferrari SF90 Stradale – Ferrari’s first series-production hybrid supercar rockets from zero to sixty under two seconds and hits a top speed of over 211 mph.

12. Porsche Taycan Turbo S – As Porsche’s electric powerhouse, it blazes to 60 mph in around 2.6 seconds with a maximum speed of around 162 mph.

13. Aston Martin DBS Superleggera – This British grand tourer seamlessly combines luxury with performance boasting a top speed of around 211 mph.

14. Nissan GT-R Nismo – Affectionately known as “Godzilla”, this Japanese tour de force remains competitive with its ability to reach up to about 205 mph.

These cars offer an exhilarating combination of speed, design, and technology and represent the pinnacle of what’s available on the market today for those who prioritize velocity above all else in their vehicles. Whether through sheer horsepower or through electric prowess, each one pushes the boundaries of what’s possible on four wheels.
