13 Simple Ways to Fix a Broken Marriage God’s Way

A broken marriage can be one of the most challenging and painful experiences in life. However, there is always hope for healing and restoration when you turn to God. Here are 13 simple ways to fix your broken marriage, inspired by biblical teachings and principles.

1. Pray Together

Praying together can strengthen your bond and bring you closer to God. Set aside daily time for prayer and devotion as a couple, seeking His guidance and wisdom for your marriage.

2. Communicate Openly

Good communication is crucial in any relationship. Be honest about your feelings, listen to each other, and practice understanding instead of jumping to conclusions or assigning blame.

3. Choose Love Over Pride

In times of conflict, choose love over winning an argument or being right. Remember that pride goes before destruction, but love covers a multitude of sins (Proverbs 16:18; 1 Peter 4:8).

4. Forgive Each Other

Forgiveness is essential for healing and moving forward. Let go of past hurts, openly discuss them with your spouse, and fully forgive one another (Colossians 3:13).

5. Practice Humility

Accept responsibility for your actions and admit when you are wrong. Humility goes hand in hand with forgiveness and facilitates the healing process.

6. Prioritize Your Marriage

Make spending quality time with your spouse a priority. Invest time and effort in nurturing the emotional connection between you both.

7. Trust God’s Plan

Believe that God has a plan for your marriage, even in difficult times (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust Him to guide you through this journey.

8. Read Scripture Together

Read the Bible together daily as a constant source of wisdom, guidance, and inspiration for your relationship (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

9. Seek Godly Counsel

Ask wise friends or mentors for advice and encouragement. Professional Christian marriage counseling can also provide valuable insights and guidance.

10. Show Appreciation and Celebrate Your Spouse

Show gratitude and celebrate your spouse’s qualities, achievements, and efforts. Encourage one another and focus on the positives in your marriage.

11. Give Each Other Grace

Give each other room to grow, change, and make mistakes. Be compassionate and understanding towards your spouse’s weaknesses (Ephesians 4:2).

12. Serve One Another

Demonstrate love through acts of service, such as doing chores for your spouse or helping them achieve a goal. Serving each other will bring you closer together (Galatians 5:13).

13. Renew Your Commitment

Regularly remind yourselves of the vows you made to each other and God on your wedding day. Make a conscious decision to recommit to those promises every day.

In conclusion, fixing a broken marriage is not easy. But by following these 13 simple steps inspired by biblical teachings and God’s guidance, you can restore joy, love, and fulfillment in your marriage. With God at the center of your relationship, there’s hope for a stronger bond and a more vibrant future together.
