Introduction:

“SOS ONLY” is an issue that many iPhone users face at times, making it difficult for them to make calls or send messages. This article is designed to help you solve this problem by following 11 simple methods.

1. Check Network Coverage:

The first step is checking your network coverage. If you are in an area with poor signal or no coverage at all, then the “SOS ONLY” sign will appear. Move around a bit and see if the signal improves.

2. Restart Your iPhone:

Sometimes, a simple device reboot can solve the issue. Power off your iPhone, wait for around 30 seconds, and turn it back on.

3. Remove and Reinsert SIM Card:

Turn off your device, open the SIM card tray, remove it, and reinsert it after a few seconds. Close the tray and turn on your iPhone to check if the problem is resolved.

4. Check Carrier Settings Update:

Your carrier might have sent an update that needs installation before using their network. Go to Settings > General > About and look for any pending updates in front of Carrier.

5. Toggle Airplane Mode On/Off:

Switching Airplane mode on and off can sometimes fix connection issues with your carrier. Swipe down from the top-right corner of iPhone X or newer, or swipe up from the bottom on older models to bring up Control Center. Tap the Airplane icon to enable/disable it.

6. Reset Network Settings:

To reset network settings on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Be cautious; this method will delete saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices from your phone.

7. Contact Your Carrier:

If the problem persists even after trying all these steps, contact your service provider for assistance as there might be an issue with your account or SIM card.

8. Update iOS:

Sometimes, a software issue might cause the “SOS ONLY” problem. Make sure your device is up to date by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

9. Disable Automatic Carrier Selection:

Go to Settings > Cellular > Network Selection and turn off “Automatic.” Your iPhone will search for available networks. Choose your carrier manually from the list.

10. Change SIM Card:

It’s possible that your SIM card might have become faulty. If you still face the same problem after following all the steps, consider getting a new SIM card.

11. Visit an Apple Authorized Service Center:

If none of the above methods work, take your iPhone to an authorized service center for expert help and possible hardware repair or replacement.

Conclusion:

Resolving the “SOS ONLY” issue on the iPhone is generally simple and hassle-free with these 11 methods. Most users find that one of these techniques works for them and helps restore their network connectivity. Good luck with fixing your iPhone!
