Introduction:

Sharpie markers are a popular tool for creating eye-catching designs and vivid illustrations. However, accidental spills or mishaps can leave stubborn ink stains on various hard surfaces. Fortunately, there are several effective methods to easily remove Sharpie from hard surfaces without causing damage. Here are 11 ways that you can try:

1. Rubbing Alcohol:

Dab a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol on the affected area. Gently rub the surface until the ink fades away. Wipe clean with a damp cloth once done.

2. Nail Polish Remover:

Apply a small amount of nail polish remover onto a cotton swab, and gently rub the Sharpie stain until it is removed. Afterward, clean the surface with a damp cloth to remove any residue.

3. Toothpaste:

Cover the Sharpie mark with a thick layer of white toothpaste and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then scrub the area gently with an old toothbrush or cloth until the stain disappears.

4. Baking Soda & Water Solution:

Make a thick paste using equal parts baking soda and water. Apply this paste onto the stained area and gently scrub it off using a cloth or sponge.

5. Vinegar:

Soak a clean cloth in white vinegar and gently rub it on the ink-stained area until all of the Sharpie stains are removed.

6. Magic Eraser:

Use a dampened Magic Eraser sponge to gently scrub away at the Sharpie stain until it is fully removed.

7. WD-40:

Spray WD-40 directly on the ink-stained area, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe it off with a clean cloth.

8. Hairspray:

Spray some hairspray directly onto the stain, allow it to sit for a minute, and then wipe off with a damp cloth or sponge.

9. Lemon Juice & Salt:

Mix equal parts of lemon juice and salt to create a paste. Apply this mixture onto the Sharpie stain and gently rub it off using a cloth or sponge.

10. Hand Sanitizer:

Squeeze a small amount of hand sanitizer directly onto the stain, let it set for a few minutes, then gently rub it off with a cloth or sponge.

11. Goo Gone:

For stubborn Sharpie marks, apply Goo Gone to the stain, let it sit for a few minutes, and scrub gently with a cloth to remove the ink.

Conclusion:

Sharpie stains on hard surfaces can be quite persistent but can be easily tackled using common household items. Whether you’re faced with ink markings on your countertops, walls, or appliances, try one of these 11 ways to remove Sharpie stains and restore your hard surface’s original appearance. Always remember to test any solution on an inconspicuous area first to ensure it won’t damage the material.
